Eldorado UNIVERSALIST CHURCH (Unitarian Universalist Association)

|
The First Universalist Church of Eldorado, founded in 1849, values diversity and freedom of belief and ideas. We affirm the worth of all human beings, regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation. We believe people should be encouraged to think for themselves, and we trust people to build their own faith. Acknowledging that people differ in opinion and life style, we feel these differences should be honored, for each person is the final authority on his or her own life. Universalists affirm: (1)“God is unconditional all-encompassing Love. Being as a Perfect Father, God has the WISDOM and FORESIGHT not to just cruelly and senselessly punish but to purposefully discipline his children to constructively cleanse, correct, and rehabilitate everyone for eternal salvation. It supports God’s purpose to make the wrongdoer into a rightdoer. (2) We believe in the spiritual leadership of Jesus as well as other great world religious leaders. (3) The union of Reason and Religion is our belief. To Universalists, God is universal, all compassionate, unconditional love which compels us to act from the warmth of the spontaneity of a heart of love that moves us to action. "Love is in your heart not to stay, but to be shared."
Unitarianism extols reason that moves them to consider the possibilities of duty. LOVE is measured by heart, not brains. "Universalism is the most beautiful word in the English Language" -- Elizabeth Barrett Browning, poetess of England
